As one of the newest members of Alliance Counseling, I am excited to be part of a team of counselors who are committed to providing quality mental health services to people in the Northern Illinois area.
As a library administrator, I help people find information and manage projects. As a social worker, I connect people with the information they need to set goals and make their projects successful. Clients who are looking for a mature social worker with an understanding of how thoughts, feelings and behaviors impact us are encouraged to schedule a time to meet with me and give my friendly, professional, coaching style a try. I offer early morning, weekend, and evening meeting times to fit your needs, flexible billing options, and professional support navigating life changes and the feelings that come with them.
I seek to provide clients with a safe space and professional guidance so they can see their options, unique challenges and many strengths. The tools we use (CBT, DBT, ACT) and the reasons we use them (anxiety, anger, ADHD, depressed mood, phase of life) vary. Having support when things start to change in life and you have to try new things can be helpful.
I enjoy working with clients who are looking for someone who can offer them a safe space to have a honest, open discussion about their challenges. The goal is to help clients find new ways to leverage their strengths so they can come to terms with where they are, and how they might move ahead so the can accomplish their personal goals.

My love of learning and projects is rooted in my diverse work history that includes public librarianship. Public librarians and social workers have a long history of partnership, so it made sense that I blend my MLIS and MSW/LSW. Alliance Counseling is my most current project and I enjoy the opportunity this job provides me to get to know people and hear their stories.
